El blog se ha convertido en la herramienta indispensable del siglo XXI, ya sea para comunicar, mostrar trabajos, anunciar productos y servicios, lo cierto es que con un blog se puede hacer prácticamente de todo.
Resulta excitante poder mostrar a los demás nuestros trabajos o simplemente comunicarnos con el mundo exterior.
¿Pero… Realmente qué es wordpress? WordPress es una herramienta CMS (Content Management System) o como lo definiríamos en español, una herramienta que permite la gestión, creación y administración de contenidos, en este caso dedicados a un blog.
Hasta hace algunos años, crear un blog resultaba una tarea un poco menos complicada que crear una página web php/html. En marzo de 2008 fue cuando wordpress salió a la luz, aunque tuvieron que pasar algunos más años hasta que la gente se dio cuenta de lo sencillo que podría resultar crear una ventana al mundo de internet con apenas un hosting y un dominio.
A este fenómeno le siguió blogger, una herramienta que permitía facilitarnos la vida aún más, si cabe. Desde que blogger salió a la luz ha permitido que la forma en la que la gente creara su escaparate personal fuese exageradamente económica y sencilla.
Con apenas 3 pasos podías crear un blog y mostrar al mundo tu información personal, historias, productos o servicios. Ha llovido bastante desde aquellos tiempos y la tecnología no ha hecho más que evolucionar. En la actualidad y debido a la gran competencia que existe entre las empresas de hosting, blogger ha dejado de usarse tanto a nivel personal dejando paso a los blogs personales con dominio propio.
ACCESO DIRECTO AL CANAL DE TELEGRAM
¿Qué se puede hacer con un blog?
- Tener presencia en internet y darse a conocer. De la noche a la mañana nos encontramos con que miles de personas pueden tener acceso y leer la parte de nuestra vida que queremos mostrar, nuestras historias personales, nuestros productos, trabajos o incluso servicios. Esto puede ocurrir en un abrir y cerrar de ojos gracias a un fenómeno llamado posicionamiento.
- A los buscadores les encantan los blogs, sobre todo porque suelen tener gran cantidad de textos y gracias a ese texto pueden nutrirse y mostrar mejores resultados de búsquedas. Recuerda que cuanta más información tengas en un blog, más posibilidades tendrás de aparecer con diferentes términos de búsqueda en Google, Yahoo, Bing, Yandex, etc.
- Da credibilidad a tu producto o servicio. Pongamos un ejemplo, si tienes una tienda y muestras un producto, realmente lo que muestras es: Un título (que aunque tratemos de decir mucho… dice poco), una descripción donde se explica perfectamente qué hace el producto o para qué sirve y una serie de imágenes.Ahora imagina que en tu blog muestras no sólo el producto, sinó una enorme variedad de usos: descripciones diferentes en según el tipo de uso, imágenes, videos, sliders y todo tipo de creatividades que permiten acercar al usuario un poco más a ese producto. Ahora me pregunto, ¿no es más sencillo vender un producto si la información es justamente la que necesita el usuario? Esto mismo lo puedes hacer también con tus servicios o incluso con tu portfolio.
- Apoya tus perfiles en redes sociales con contenido propio. Por lo general, los usuarios de redes sociales suelen compartir lo que otros comparten o contenidos de webs que visitan, así que, con tu blog podrás compartir tus propios contenidos apoyando información o comentarios.Por otro lado, podrás permitir que otros usuarios de redes sociales den a conocer u opinen sobre tus productos o servicios en redes sociales expandiendo aún más tu blog.
- Como último apartado vamos a hablar de la monetización y es que, en mi opinión, ésta es la mejor parte de un blog, rentabilizarlo, sacarle partido al máximo a tus contenidos.
¿Cómo monetizar un blog?
Existen muchas formas de monetizar un blog wordpress o un blog tipo blogger, la más conocida de todas es Google Adsense.
Por excelencia, Adsense siempre ha sido la empresa que mejor paga los impactos o clicks publicitarios en los blogs. Además dispone de una gigantesca cantidad de anunciantes por lo que puedes estar seguro que siempre aparecerá publicidad similar a tu temática en tus anuncios.
Permitir que aparezca publicidad segmentada por tu temática puede hacer que aumente en gran medida el CTR (Click-through rate o en español Proporción de clics), se calcula dividiendo el número de clicks hacia nuestro anuncio dividido entre el número de veces que fue visto multiplicando por 100.
Una fórmula que aunque parezca poco importante a simple vista, determinará el camino hacia el éxito a la hora de monetizar nuestro blog.
También existen otras empresas que permiten la monetización como, por ejemplo, WordPressAds, Themoneytizer, RevenueHits,etc. Este tipo de empresas estarían dentro del marco de monetización por click, posiblemente la forma más utilizada en los blogs, sin embargo, también existe la fórmula de la afiliación donde podemos exponer productos o servicios de pago por acción o venta, como pueda ser el caso de CPA’s o Amazon, este último caso está más enfocado a los productos.
Si por ejemplo tienes un blog donde hablas sobre temas naturales, nutrición etc., Amazon podría ser una alternativa perfecta para acompañar a tus contenidos. Gracias a los anuncios de Amazon podrás vender productos directamente desde su plataforma obteniendo unas comisiones muy interesantes.
Por otro lado, si lo que tienes son contenidos más generales o informativos, Adsense tiene una estructura de anuncios perfecta para acompañar a tus artículos permitiendo que los usuarios puedan ampliar la información de tus contenidos pulsando sobre los anuncios, de esta forma tus visitantes estarán contentos de pulsar la publicidad y encontrar información muy relacionada con lo que están leyendo.
Algo que debes tener en cuenta si te embarcas en el tema de la monetización (para que no te lleves una sorpresa) es que Google Adsense nunca nos dirá cuánto nos va a pagar por click. Existen muchas variables sobre calidad del visitante, geolocalización, puja, competencia, etc. que determinarán a cuánto nos pagarán el click.
Otro factor es que Google tan sólo nos mostrará cifras promedio ya que finalmente nos pagarán el 68% del beneficio total, siendo el 51% para los anuncios de los cuadros de búsqueda.
Recomendación Final:
Si te estás planteando montar un blog, ya sea a nivel personal o profesional, sigue los siguientes pasos —>
- Encuentra un dominio que te defina o defina tu marca/producto.
- Si no utilizas blogger contrata un alojamiento.
- Consigue una plantilla que equilibre entre bonita y optimizada para buscadores, (que pese poco, que tenga bien definidos los parámetros meta, h1,h2,h3 etc…).
- Introduce cierta cantidad de contenidos antes de pasar al paso de la monetización. Es importante que no comiences a avasallar a tus visitantes con publicidad cuando aún tienes poco contenido, una vez que llenes de contenidos tu web podrás monetizarla.
- Para monetizar tu web, escoge correctamente el tipo de anuncio que quieres mostrar, que tipos de cuadros y sus tamaños, por supuesto una de las cosas más importantes es dónde mostrarás la publicidad, una buena zona suele ser entre los textos de los artículos ya que es aquí donde el visitante suele pasar más tiempo y con más probabilidad pulsará sobre nuestra publicidad.
- Por último, analiza datos, vincula tu blog con google analytics para detectar patrones de visitantes, páginas más visitadas, sitios donde el usuario se siente más cómodo y así mejorar más la definición de tu nicho.
Siguiendo estos pasos estarás listo, no sólo para montar tu blog, sinó también para comenzar a monetizarlo. Te proponemos la forma de blog wordpress + google analytics + google adsense y, por supuesto, analizar datos para conseguir el mejor CTR posible. Ahí es donde está la magia de conseguir que a mayor número de visitas más ingresos puedas conseguir!
